Lapicida Latinus is available as a native app for iPhone and iPad — fully offline-capable; no Wi-Fi required while practicing.

Don’t have Google Play on your device? You can also download and install the Lapicida app directly as an APK—it’s the same app as the one in the Play Store.

- Settings → Enable “Allow apps from unknown sources”
- Open the APK file and tap “Install”

Learning progress without the full version: Saved in the browser cache. Clear the cache or switch browsers → progress is lost. With the full version: Cloud sync automatically backs up everything.

Form Trainer
Active review of word forms: nouns (5 declensions), verbs (all conjugations, tenses, moods), adjectives, pronouns, participles. The system focuses specifically on the forms you haven’t mastered yet.
Sentence Quiz
Parsing real original Latin sentences: subject, predicate, objects, adverbial phrases, attributes—and more complex constructions such as ACI, participle constructions, relative clauses, and the subjunctive. 15+ levels ranging from easy to difficult.
Vocabulary Trainer
Spaced repetition with 10 review modes: from flashcards (Flip) to pure writing recall (Scripta). The Box system automatically decides which mode is best for you at any given time.

I’m a teacher—how do I get started?
- Get a class license → Request a class license or buy one directly (class pricing on request)
- Create a class: Teacher Dashboard → “Create New Class” → Choose a name and learning profile → Write down the join code
- Invite students: Have students open Lapicida → Settings → “Join Class” → Enter the join code
- Use the dashboard: Teacher Area → “Today” tab → Class overview, learning progress, inactive students, homework
Frequently Asked Questions When Starting for the First Time
The app won’t open—what should I do?
Check your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge are recommended. Internet Explorer is not supported. On iPhone/iPad: Download the app directly from the Apple App Store.
I can’t find my module.
Adjectives, pronouns, participles, and most of the sentence quiz sections are in the full version. In the free section: nouns (1st declension), verbs (indicative active present + perfect), sentence quiz (subject + predicate, easy).
My learning progress is gone.
Without the full version, your progress is only saved in the browser cache. Clear the cache or switch browsers → progress is lost. Solution: Activate the full version → cloud sync automatically saves everything across all devices.
How many devices can I use with one license key?
Your license key works on up to 3 devices at the same time. iOS purchases through the App Store are tied to your Apple ID.
Is Lapicida available for Android without Google Play?
Yes. You can download the Lapicida app directly as an APK—without the Google Play Store. The security setting “Apps from unknown sources” must be enabled on your device.
My join code isn’t working.
Join codes are case-sensitive. Check to see if your teacher has already created the class. If you have any issues: andreas@lapicida-latinus.de
The DeepL connection isn’t working.
Check to see if the API key is entered correctly (Settings → DeepL). The free DeepL plan has a monthly limit. Once the limit is reached, Lapicida automatically falls back to Wiktionary.
