Is Lapicida really free?
Yes. The free section is available indefinitely—no time limit, no credit card required. It includes: 1. Declension (a-stems), basic verbs (present indicative active + perfect), subject & predicate sentence quiz (easy), 6 reading collections (Caesar, Cicero, Sallust L3 + L6), 1 custom vocabulary list (30 words), and 5 free OCR scans. For the full range of features, there’s the full version.
How much does the full version cost?
The full version is available on a monthly basis (€4.99/month), annually (€19.99/year = €1.67/month), or as a lifetime license (€49.99 one-time fee). Different prices apply via the Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad): 6.99 €/month, 29.99 €/year, or 69.99 € for a lifetime license.
Is there a subscription?
Yes, Lapicida is available as a subscription (cancelable monthly or annually) or as a one-time lifetime license. The annual subscription is by far the most affordable option—cheaper than a single tutoring session, for an entire year.
How much does the class license cost?
The class license is available as a quota on request — pricing depends on class size and term. School discounts for 3 or more classes are available upon request. Invoices can be issued to the school. → All details for teachers

Technology & Devices
What devices does Lapicida run on?
Lapicida runs on Android (Google Play Store), iPhone/iPad (Apple App Store), and as a web app in all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). The native apps can be used entirely offline.
Do I need an internet connection?
For the web version: Yes. The Android and iOS apps can be used offline (learning progress is synced the next time you connect).
Is Lapicida available for iPhone?
Yes—as a native app in the Apple App Store. Just download it and get started. Note: Prices in the App Store may vary slightly due to Apple’s fees.
My learning progress has disappeared.
Progress is stored in the browser’s LocalStorage—this is device-specific and is reset when you clear your cache. With the full version, progress is backed up on the server (cloud sync). Recommendation: Do not use incognito mode.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome (recommended), Firefox, Safari, Edge—all current versions. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Which textbooks are supported?
Lapicida is textbook-neutral. The grammar content aligns with all common textbooks (Cursus, Prima Nova, Campus, Pontes). The vocabulary trainer includes lessons that follow common textbook sequences. Teachers can set their own configurations in the dashboard.
How many practice sentences are there?
Lapicida offers over 13,000 hand-curated practice sentences and over 11,000 vocabulary words from classical literature—Cicero, Caesar, Ovid, Sallust, and others. No generated content.
Are all grades (8–12) covered?
Yes. The sentence quiz has 13 sections covering the curriculum from 8th grade through the Abitur—from simple subject-predicate sentences to ACI, NCI, subjunctive constructions, and the passive voice.
Is Lapicida suitable for Latinum preparation?

Privacy & GDPR
What data is stored?
In the free version (no account): no personal data whatsoever. Learning progress is stored only locally in the browser. With an account (full version): email address + learning progress, encrypted on German servers.
Is there tracking or advertising?
Lapicida uses Google Analytics 4—exclusively after consent is given via the cookie banner (Real Cookie Banner, GDPR-compliant). There are no ads.
Is student data shared with third parties?
No. Student data (learning progress, join code assignment) is not shared with third parties. → Full Privacy Policy
Is Lapicida GDPR-compliant for school use?
Yes. For school use: Students do not need their own email address. The join code is sufficient. Only anonymized learning progress data is stored, which the teacher can view in the dashboard.
For Teachers & Schools
How does the class license work?
After purchase, you’ll receive a Join Code for each class. Students enter this code in the app. You can view the learning progress of all students in the teacher dashboard. → Full details on the teacher page

Can I upload my own texts?
Yes. With the class license, you can upload your own Latin texts in the Reading module, break them down into sentences, and assign them as homework.
Can the invoice be made out to the school?
Yes. When you make a purchase, you can specify the school and address. The invoice, including VAT, will be issued automatically.
