What is this?
The learning mode controls which content you’re offered and in what order. You choose between two paths — learn freely, or tailored exactly to your level.
These settings
- Self-learner: All content, in our carefully sequenced order. For anyone who wants to learn freely and at their own pace.
- Curriculum (with licence): Adapts the whole learning experience to your year of study — you only practise what you’ve already covered (grammar and sentences at your level).
Choosing your year of study (in curriculum mode)
When asked „How long have you been learning Latin?“ you pick your year of study. Your choice unlocks exactly the grammar that was due up to that point:
- Year 1: Present · Active · Noun & adjective declension · AcI
- Year 2: Perfect/Imperfect/Pluperfect/Future · Passive · Relative clause · Participle (PC)
- Year 3: Subjunctive · Ablative absolute · U-declension
- Sixth form/University: Gerund/Gerundive · Deponents · Comparison · Future perfect · Original reading texts
If you switch your year of study, the app reloads briefly once so the exercises match your new level — one button („Apply new year of study“) does this.
Are you part of a class?
Then your teacher sets the year of study — the choice is locked on your end, so everyone practises at the same level.
For more on how the learning path is built up, see the Curriculum page.
